Hello, I'm happy to be here...

So says the singer in a town they barely know, night after night. However, last night I really was very glad to arrive in Turin.

The day began well, with an early train to Florence where, as you can see below, I met the great team from Audioglobe distribution and signed with them as my Italian distributors. We filmed a session in their warehouse, had a chat and did the paperwork. They are great and I'm very happy to be working with them.

On leaving Florence I thought I caught a train to Turin. It wound through hills and streams. It dropped me at a single track station deep in the woods. Something had gone wrong. Instead of Turin, I was in Ponte Della Venturina, in Emilia. Somehow the wrong ticket had been booked in haste in England, since Torino is spelt with a u in English. Ah. So I had to go back to Florence, changing in Pistoia - the same 1.5 hour journey I had just made.

Three hours into what should have been a three hour journey, I arrived back at Florence and caught the train to Turin, thereby turning a 3 hour journey into 6 hours. Suffice to stay this story went down a treat with the audience in Turin, especially since the club is called Da Emilia. I was the only one who'd come from Emilia that day! Astrologers claim that travel should return to normal now that Mercury is no longer in retrograde.

The gigs in Rome and Turin have been good. Tomorrow I am live on the MAPS radio show on Bologna city radio, at around 3.30 Italy time / 2.30 UK time. Apparently it's a very good show (recent guests include Hinds, Ash and Ethan Johns) so do tune in.
